Hi friend!
I am FINALLY sharing all the details from my bachelorette trip to Cancun! This trip was so much fun and I had the best weekend celebrating with my closest friends.
Welcome to the Bach Series! I wanted to find a way to capture the fun bachelorette’s I have coming up for my sweet friends in this next season of life while also being a resource and guide for popular destinations. This review is solely from my experience at this destination as a bachelorette trip and less as a travel guide for a normal trip. This edition of the bach series is EXTRA special because I am covering my own bachelorette!
WHAT IS THE BACH SERIES?
I love writing travel guides. They take a LOT of work but I do think they are so helpful and I know they can be a great resource when planning a trip. Bachelorette’s are really their own type of trip. Planning a trip for a big group of girls to a destination you might not have been to is nerve-wracking and a bit stressful. Hopefully, through the bach series I can be a resource to a maid of honor planning a trip, a bride deciding on her destination and every bridesmaid in between! Ok, let’s get started on today’s post, Cancún!

Why Cancún?
There are so many amazing places to go for a bachelorette and Cancún has always been at the top of my list! I am such a beach girl at heart and I loved the type of trip Cancún offers for a bachelorette.
My sister is also my maid of honor and only 19 so I did not want to go somewhere in the U.S. and worry about her not being able to participate in all the activities. In Cancún she is legal drinking age!
Some of my favorite reasons to choose Cancún as your bachelortte destination:
- Weather and beach! Warm sunshine weather and sitting on the beach has never felt so ideal! I loved that in February we could escape the cold with a warmer destination.
- All Inclusive – nothing screams easy like an all-inclusive trip. The majority of hotels in Cancún are all-inclusive which makes splitting tabs and cost expectations up front easy when planning a trip for a group.
- Affordable! Yep, you read that right! I think people have the assumption that going out of the country means more cost but this trip was extemely reasonable from a cost prespective because we stayed at an all-inclusive! Our flights were around $350 roundtrip from Austin, Texas (we flew from Austin to save some money!)

Is it Safe?
I got this question a lot over on Instagram when I was posting photos from our trip. I would never advise someone to go someplace they felt unsafe. Everyone has their own discrepancies on what is going to mean safe for themselves. That being said, we felt incredibly safe the entire trip. We used extreme caution as one always should when traveling especially as a group of girls traveling alone. We used the buddy system and watched our surroundings, but we never felt as we were unsafe. Cancun thrives on tourism so while there are parts of Mexico, I would avoid due to current conditions, I did not feel unsafe in Cancun.
We primarily stuck to our resort and avoided Downtown Cancun which can be dicey. We hired private cars or shuttles to and from our resort. Overall, I would use your best judgement when traveling anywhere but if you do choose to travel to Cancun, I would opt to stay at your resort and hire private transportation to get to and from the airport.

Where to Stay
We stayed the Wyndham Alltra Cancun – All-Inclusive Resort. We chose this property because of the well-known brand name, you know what you are going to get quality wise from this hotel brand. We also liked that this hotel had the ability to fit four girls to a room. We were traveling as a group of eight and a lot of hotels in Cancun we were looking at weirdly only allowed for three people to a room.
We got a Black Friday deal when booking this hotel making it extemely reasonable for the trip. It was $389 per person total for three nights and that included all food and drinks… I am telling you – Cancun is super reasonable for a bachelorette trip!
I will say we did upgrade and order a few bottles of nice tequila on the beach but it was worth it overall for the cost of getting all meals included! We just used the nicer tequila to top off our drinks from the resort that were included in our all-inclusive.

Resort Amenities
We opted to rent cabanas on both Friday and Saturday of our trip. It was absolutely the move I want to say it was $50 to $75 total for one cabana per day and we rented two both days. The price depends on what row you are! We loved the service we got from the cabanas and it was nice to have enough seats for everyone!
I will say this resort does not have a huge pool but that was not a priority for us given the short amount of time we were going to be traveling. We wanted to maximize the time spent on the beach!

Resort Food
There are a lot of restaurants at the resort we stayed at. Our absolute favorite was the taco cart on the beach. The tacos were so good and they had so many options.
The resort was very allergen friendly both my sister and a friend on the trip are celiac and the resort was extremely cautious and accommodating.
We didn’t love the Asian restaurant and decided that while the variety was nice, when in Mexico it’s best to stick to the authentic cuisine and the rest of the trip we stuck true to the Mexican restaurants. The breakfast buffet was always incredible and we loved all the food options overall!

Our Itinerary
Thursday
Thursday we all got in around the same time, 5 pm. Check in was not until 4 pm so once we got to the hotel it was just past sunset. Customs were super easy and we did not have to talk to a person because for U.S. residents, you can use this machine that takes your photo and fingerprint and prints you a ticket.
Once we got to the hotel, my friends set up the room with all our decorations. The theme was Zoe’s Final Flamingle which I thought was so cute because of all the pink and seems so fitting for Mexico. I loved that this theme wasn’t super overdone too!
Thursday night we went to dinner at the resort and the theme was, “resort wear” colorful maxi dresses.
After dinner, the girls threw me a lingerie shower and then we watched the sweetest and funniest videos from Pierce! If you’ve never played this game at a bachelorette you need to!
FUN BACHELORETTE GAME
One of the bridesmaids sends the groom a list of questions to answer for the bride questions like,
- What is one thing in the grooms wardrobe the bride would throw away?
- Who said I love you first and how did they say it?
- Whta is the bride’s favorite activity to do with the groom?
The groom videos himself answering the questions and then the brie has to guess what the groom said! Then once the bride guesses, the group gets to watch the video of what the groom said. It is so fun and one of my favorite parts of every bachelorette to see what the groom says and some of them are so funny and some so sweet. Pierce did so good on his videos and we had very similar responses.

Friday Day
Friday was our beach day! We rented the cabanas and spent the day listening to music and drinking lots of spicy margaritas. We had so much fun relaxing on the beach!
The theme for this day was “Bikini’s and Margarita’s” and all the girls wore a different flavor of margarita bathing suit (lime, strawberry, mango, etc!).
The beaches were so nice and the water was some of the bluest water I’ve ever seen! We were all saying we did not realize how nice the beaches were in Cancun. The sand is the best softest kind of sand too! The waves were a little too big to swim in but we really had no interest in getting in the water haha.

Friday Night
Friday night was so fun!! It was truly our wild “going out” night and the rest of the trip was really chill haha. This night’s theme was my absolute favorite! A Diamond and her Gems. Everyone dressed in jewel tones and I as the bride was in sequins and feathers.
We also got these fun disco cups and took them with us to dinner and then out to the club we went to! They were so fun and on brand and completed everyone’s outfit.
The club we went out to was close to our hotel and very upscale and boujee haha that’s the best word to describe it. It’s called Harry’s and their rooftop is the club called H Roof.
The whole night was so much fun and we had the best time at Harry’s they have so many sparklers and brought us sparkler shots. It was right on the water too so we got to watch the sunset which was so nice. The music was incredible too. Overall just such a fun night with my best friends dancing and being silly together.

Saturday
Satruday day we were all incredibly hungover from the night before hahah we slept in and then had a beach day (nap) on the cabanas again. It was so nice to just lay in the sun and heal. This beach day theme was black bikini’s and the bride in white!
Satruday night we went on a sunset sail and it was beautiful! This theme was Tequila Sunset and everyone wore orange pink and yellow colored maxi dresses!
I love being able to get out on the water on a trip to the beach. I grew up sailing and getting on a catamaran and laying on the trampoline drinking margs and eating on a cheese board, there is just nothing better! It was a perfect way to end out our trip and we had the best time dancing and singing on the boat.
I will say – note to future self haha maybe don’t schedule the sunset sail for the night after the heavy drinking. A few of us (including myself) were super sea sick just from being hungover haha. But we still had a great time we just should have scheduled at the front end of our trip!
My dress is Runaway the Label, Hula Dress and I rented from Fashion Pass.

Sunday
A few of the girls packed up and headed home after breakfast, but my sister and two of my friends stayed until mid-afternoon and got to lay out on the beach and by the pool. It was nice to have our last day just to chill and be super relaxing vs waking up and flying home right away.

Bach Swag
We truly had the BEST bach swag this trip and I owe it all to my best friend Carley who put together the decorations and the girls bags. She did such a good job and I am linking everything here. An absolute must is were the cute beach totes from Spinkled Pink Shop and the custom insulated wine coolers from Etsy.

That’s a wrap on my bach!
Overall it was the best trip and bachelorette I could have asked for. I am so thankful to my incredible friends for putting this together and not only spoiling me so well but for making the trip out to Mexico with me! I am so thankful to have such incredible, kind, amazing women in my life and couldn’t feel more surrounded by love! I can’t wait to have them all stand by my side in just a few weeks when I get to marry the love of my life.
If I missed any links or you have questions feel free to shoot me a DM over on Instagram and I’ll do my best to get back to you!!
xoxo,
Zoe
