Happy first day of fall!
It is hard to believe fall is already here! It still feels like February to me and I can’t believe we are already creeping up on Thanksgiving. I love this time of year! Pumpkin spice is my favorite and I have been stocking up on all the pumpkin things including my favorite pumpkin spice Nespresso pods! There is something about a pumpkin spice latte that makes fall mornings just better than other seasons.
Even though it is the first day of fall, I know it won’t be actually be in cooler fall temps for awhile. This is always the hardest time of year to dress for because you’re trying to figure out if it makes sense to bring out all your sweaters and put away your summer clothes. Today I’m giving you examples on how you can do both! Here are tons of transitional outfits to get your closet ready for fall.

Transitional Tip
Wear shorts and sweaters with booties to stay cool while keeping all the fall vibes. I love to throw a hat on too for the perfect fall look!

Transitional Tip
Wear a long thin cardigan with shorts! This gives off the look of a cozy sweater while still keeping you cool!

Transitional Tip
Start to integrate fall colors into your summer outfits. Here I am wearing a rust colored top and paired with leopard accessories to give it some fall flare.

Transitional Tip
Dress in lots of layers. I love jean jackets this time of year because the sleeves can be rolled up to stay cool. Or tie around your waist if you get too hot!

Transitional Tip
Find sheer or lightweight long sleeve tops. This is a perfect way to start adding long sleeves into your wardrobe when it is still too warm for sweaters. It helps if it’s a fall color!

Transitional Tip
Rock the off the shoulder! I love stocking up on off the shoulder sweaters to show a little summery look to a fall outfit.

Transitional Tip
Pair with whites! This jacket could come off as super wintery, but the white tee and heels keep it transitional!

Transitional Tip
Pair your sweatshirts and pullovers with shorts for a more transitional casual look!

Transitional Tip
Dare to wear white! Even if it’s past labor day, you can still sneak your summer shoes into a date night outfit to keep it transitional!

Transitional Tip
Keep it neutral! I love to wear lighter neutral colors in transitional months to keep your long sleeves looking bright.

Transitional Tip
Wear a blazer with shorts for a perfect transitional look!

Transitional Tip
Keep it off the shoulder. If you need to wear a sweater, throw a tank underneath so you can wear of the shoulder if needed.

Transitional Tip
Add a lightweight scarf! I love to accessorize with a lightweight scarf to give the illusion of cooler months.

Transitional Tip
Dress your shorts with an oversized cardigan and booties for a look that screams fall.

Transitional Tip
Pair with whites! These pants are perfect for fall (wide leg pants are a huge trend this year) but keep it transitional with a white tee and heels!

Transitional Tip
Wear seasonal colors in lighter long sleeves to keep cool! Start to integrate fall colors into your wardrobe!
I know dressing for this time of year can be confusing and sometimes stressful. Hopefully this post has given you some ideas on how you can start to transition your closet to fall. Happy fall y’all!

Zoe
